As the cold chill invades we’re still here dancing…..of course. This week we have a 3-way surprise! LUXXURY has been giving away an edit a week and these are the three we think stand out. A great resource for slo-mo Dj’s
1.First up, a warm edit of the ever lasting jam ‘Night Fever’ by the Bee Gees. Unexpectedly but pleasantly, this goes a more dubbed out hypnotic route and is more of a journey than the original. You get off at the end of your trip only to find yourself scrolling back to the play button simply to start your journey all over again.
2. My favourite of the bunch. These days edits and remix’s are hardly few and far between, and taking on tracks like this is a taste minefield, less is more. Making this one Dj friendly seems to have been the brief with a super useful into and outtro. Without too much tinkering to the iconic voice’s of Simon and Garfunkel bar a serious cutdown of verses, Luxxury has turned this supreme folk piece on its head and packed it with his very own subtle details without removing its heart. Although slow, just remember, slow motions better than no motion ‘folks’.
3. Last but by no means least, some Madonna vibes to really get things all hot and sexy and laced in nostalgia. By now you will have become accustomed to the slow rolling baselines Luxxury leans on and this fits nicely with this iconic original. The tracks broken up flawlessly and overlapped with uplifting claps and hi-hats to provide a more current interpretation, if ever a tracked described daytime disco so effortlessly then this would be it.
