Jay Shepheard is one of London’s best kept secrets (although increasingly less well). His productions are classy and uncompromising in their authenticity. It’s rare that Jay gives away any of his edits, he normally reserves them for live gigs and such the like so today we are lucky enough to get our mits on one. The Beloved – Rising Sun is just that, beloved. Its been remixed by a whole heap of people and that’s testament to the originals strength. This hypnotic edit is sure to get some rubber off your soles, it, like the original, derives much of its warmth and personality from that vocal loop take from “O Euchari”, which was also sampled in Orbital’s ‘Belfast’ incase you’re wondering what sounds familiar. The introduction of the keys really keep it alive too!
