Theres a strong argument that some tracks should not be touched, in many cases I’d agree but for some reason this remix of Prince’s ‘When Doves Cry’ gets away with it. I think it’s because new kid on the block Finnebassen doesn’t rely on the hooks in the originals vocals, hell he doesn’t even sample the original vocal, instead he samples Ginuwines version so he’s somehow tip-toe’d through a minefield. This edit has had me pressing play again and again because the atmosphere is just so smooth and crisp. Another real pet peeve is chipmunk noises in a track, but again, it works well here. This is throwing my musical moral compass all over the place.
